Built on pulse-induction technology used in military-grade detection gear, the SDC 2300 folds down to 40 cm without any disassembly, so it packs into a bag and comes out ready to search riverbeds, beaches, and mineralized ground.
The SDC 2300 borrows from equipment trusted by armed forces — a pulse-induction detector built to survive harsh, unforgiving environments. Its folding mechanism compresses the whole unit without taking it apart, which matters when you're packing for a long field trip rather than a backyard hunt.
MPF (Multi Period Fast) technology switches between transmit and receive at very high speed, cutting the residual interference that normally blurs a signal right after it's read — the result is a cleaner response and better detection of small gold pieces than slower pulse-induction designs manage.
At 2.3 kg and folded to 40 cm, it travels easily in a pack. The 8-inch round Monoloop coil is waterproof to 3 meters, ground tracking runs continuously and automatically, a dedicated Salt mode handles saline ground, and 9 LED indicators show battery level and signal strength at a glance.
Key Features
High-performance MPF technology
Switches between transmit and receive fast enough to cut residual interference most PI detectors can't avoid.
Compact folding design
Collapses to 40 cm in seconds, with no screws or disassembly involved.
Fully waterproof to 3 meters
Sealed tightly enough to search directly in riverbeds without a separate dive unit.
Military-spec-grade materials
The carbon shaft and housing meet the same standard as detection gear used by armed forces.
Automatic ground tracking
Runs continuously in the background, adjusting for soil changes as you move.
9 LED indicators
Show battery level and signal strength visually, alongside the audio response.
Two battery options
Run the rechargeable lithium-ion pack, or swap in C alkaline batteries when you're far from a charger.
High-Performance MPF Technology
Reduces the interference that lingers right after each pulse, which is what sharpens detection of the smallest gold.
Automatic Ground Tracking
Normal mode covers most ground; Salt mode is built specifically for beaches and saline flats.
Noise Cancel
One button manually clears electromagnetic interference when it creeps into a session.
Audio & Visual Response
LED indicators and tone pitch together tell you whether a target is small and deep or large and shallow.

Who Should Use the Minelab SDC 2300?
Gold prospectors working highly mineralized and saline ground
Salt mode and continuous ground tracking are built specifically for the beaches and salt flats that give VLF machines trouble.
Rocky gullies, dry riverbeds, and shallow water
Waterproof to 3 meters, it searches directly in riverbeds and shallow water instead of stopping at the edge.
Anyone who needs a compact, easy-to-transport detector for long field trips
Folding to 40 cm without disassembly, it packs into a bag for trips where space and weight matter.
Prospectors who prefer simplicity: instant operation without complex settings
A direct sensitivity dial and one-press noise cancel mean there's no settings menu to learn before you start.
