Minelab built the Gold Monster 1000 around automation — a 45 kHz VLF detector with a 24-bit processor, automatic ground balance, sensitivity, and noise cancelling, so first-time prospectors can start finding gold without learning a manual settings menu.

Most gold VLF detectors ask you to dial in ground balance, sensitivity, and noise rejection before you can trust a signal. The Gold Monster 1000 does all three automatically, pairing a 45 kHz frequency with a 24-bit digital processor so beginners get sensitivity to both fine flakes and larger nuggets from the first sweep.

Easy-Trak ground balance runs continuously in the background, tracking soil changes as you walk rather than requiring you to stop and recalibrate — useful in salt-affected or inconsistent ground where a fixed setting would drift into false signals.

Because it copes better with conductive, salty ground than many higher-frequency VLF machines, it holds up in coastal or mineral-rich soil where lesser detectors start chattering. Two dedicated search modes — Gold, which ignores iron, and Deep Metal — let you match the sweep to what you're actually looking for, while ferrous/non-ferrous discrimination trims out obvious junk before you dig.

Sensitivity runs on Auto, Auto+, or ten manual steps, noise cancellation resets itself at power-up, and the Gold Chance Indicator gives a simple visual lean toward gold and away from iron and hot rocks — three pieces of automation that add up to less guesswork per target.

Key Features

  • 45 kHz Frequency

Tuned for strong sensitivity to gold at the small end of the size range, from fine flakes to nuggets.

  • 24-Bit Processor

Cleans up the signal path so genuine targets come through with fewer false responses.

  • Automatic Easy-Trak

Tracks changing soil continuously as you sweep, with no need to stop and recalibrate by hand.

  • Gold Chance Indicator

Gives an instant visual read on how likely a signal is gold before you dig.

  • Automatic Sensitivity and Noise Cancel

Sets itself at power-up, cutting setup time down to almost nothing.

  • Lightweight

At 1.25 kg, it won't wear down your arm over a full day of swinging.

  • Waterproof Coil

Rated to 1 meter, so wading into shallow creek edges isn't off-limits.

Ideal For

Who Should Use the Minelab Gold Monster 1000?

Beginners wanting a fully automatic, easy-to-learn gold detector

Every core setting runs itself, so someone who has never swung a detector before can start finding gold on day one.

Experienced prospectors looking for a lightweight VLF detector

At 1.25 kg it's light enough for veterans to carry as a fast, no-fuss VLF option alongside heavier PI gear.

Searching for small gold pieces in mineralized ground

The 45 kHz frequency and 24-bit processor pick out fine gold that lower-frequency machines can miss in tricky soil.

Working bedrock cracks, tailings piles, and dry washes

Continuous Easy-Trak ground balance keeps false signals down while you work crevices and old tailings piles where junk signals stack up.
