GeoSense-PI pulse-induction processing lets the GPX 6000 hold a clean signal across mineralized, salty ground that trips up lesser detectors, all from a carbon-fiber build that keeps total weight at just 2.1 kg.
GeoSense-PI is Minelab's answer to ground that used to be considered too noisy to search productively: a pulse-induction engine built specifically to analyze and respond to ground signal with more clarity than earlier GPX detectors managed.
Three overlapping feedback systems dampen unwanted signal fast, which is what gives the GPX 6000 its quick response on real gold targets. Ground balance adjusts automatically as you sweep across changing soil, so there's no need to stop and reset settings mid-session.
At just 2.1 kg, with a lightweight carbon-fiber shaft, a streamlined control box, and a U-Flex armrest, it supports longer, more comfortable detecting sessions. The 11-inch and 14-inch coils in the box cover tight ground and salty conditions respectively, and a 17-inch elliptical mono coil is available separately for wider coverage and extra depth on larger nuggets.
Ground mode toggles between Normal and Difficult (the mineralized-ground default), and coil mode switches between EMI Cancel and Conductive Ground Cancel for salty conditions. Quick-Trak ground balance handles the rest, whether run automatically or reset with a quick manual trigger — Minelab calls the whole setup Easy Expert, since it's tuned to perform well without an expert at the controls.
Key Features
GeoSense-PI Technology
Analyzes ground signal with enough precision to work soil that stumps earlier PI detectors.
Detects All Gold Sizes
Tuned to respond to everything from fine flakes to sizeable nuggets in the same sweep.
Fully Automatic Ground Balance
Adjusts itself continuously, so there's no manual calibration standing between you and a search.
Lightweight
At 2.1 kg it's noticeably easier on the arm than a typical PI machine.
ML 100 Wireless Headphones
Low-latency aptX Bluetooth keeps the audio in sync with what's happening under the coil.
Two Included Coils
An 11-inch mono for tight ground plus a 14-inch DD tuned for salty conditions, both in the box.
Rugged and Weatherproof
Holds up through heat, dust, and rain without special handling in the field.

Who Should Use the Minelab GPX 6000?
Professional prospectors seeking the lightest PI detector with advanced performance
At 2.1 kg, it delivers PI-class ground handling without the arm fatigue of older, heavier detectors.
Searching old goldfields and highly mineralized, salty ground
GeoSense-PI processing was built specifically to stay stable in the red dirt and salt that trip up VLF gear.
Anyone wanting an easy-to-use detector without complex manual settings
Automatic ground balance and noise cancel mean fewer menus to learn before you're actually finding gold.
Long prospecting sessions requiring light weight and high comfort
The carbon-fiber shaft and U-Flex armrest are built to carry comfortably across a full day of swinging.
