Sixteen to twenty feet down is where Multimax starts working, well past where a VLF detector runs out of range.
Multimax comes out of ASTEAM, the R&D division of Turkey's AS Dedektor, and it's built around a different problem than a hobby detector solves: getting a usable signal at real depth through heavily mineralized or rocky ground, where conventional VLF machines lose both range and accuracy.
A multi-channel pulse ground balance system does the heavy lifting here, filtering out soil mineral interference while still tracking genuine metal targets, which keeps the signal stable and low-noise even once you're 16-20 feet down. That depth is the whole point of the design, and it's why Multimax shows up on treasure hunting jobs, archaeological surveys, industrial metal screening, and security sweeps rather than casual coin shooting.
The kit itself is built around interchangeable coils — a Relic Hunter disc and a Coin Hunter disc are both included — plus a long-range directional antenna frame for scanning wide areas from a distance. Everything runs from a rugged handheld control unit with its own display and packs into a hard case for transport between sites.
Key Features
Multi-Channel Pulse Ground Balance
filters out mineralized-soil interference while continuing to track genuine metal targets accurately underneath it
Extreme Search Depth
reaches 16-20 feet, a range that puts it well past what standard VLF detectors are built to handle
Interchangeable Search Coils
Relic Hunter and Coin Hunter coils ship with the kit, matching the disc to the target size and search style you're running
Long-Range Directional Antenna
adds wide-area directional scanning on top of the standard coils, useful for narrowing a large search zone before you commit to a spot
Ferrous/Non-Ferrous Discrimination
near-surface targets read out on a 0-100 conductivity scale that separates iron from non-iron before you dig
Rugged Field-Ready Kit
packs down into a hard protective case built to survive transport between remote or difficult sites

Who Should Use the Multimax?
Deep treasure hunting
A working depth of 16-20 feet reaches targets that conventional detectors simply can't get a signal on.
Archaeological survey
The long-range directional antenna helps map out a wide site before ground gets disturbed by digging.
Relic and coin recovery
Dedicated Relic Hunter and Coin Hunter coils are built specifically around those two target profiles rather than one general-purpose disc.
Professional exploration teams
A rugged handheld unit and hard transport case are built for repeated field deployment, not casual weekend use.
