Stinger Detectors builds the X5 as a VLF ground detector aimed at prospectors working mineralized soil, wet ground, and trash-heavy sites where a basic hobby detector starts giving up. Three core modes — Discrimination, All Metal, and Pinpointer — cover the range from general searching down to locating a target's exact position.

Automatic ground balancing runs alongside a dedicated ZB filter and a separate Hot Rocks filter, which between them knock out the false signals that mineralized soil and non-metallic rocks tend to cause on cheaper machines. A numeric Target ID and, in All Metal mode, an on-screen depth estimate in centimeters give a quick sense of what's down there and how far, and the whole interface runs through a 4.3-inch TFT color display available in eight languages.

This package ships with two waterproof elliptical DD coils rather than one: a 36 x 41cm coil for covering open ground at depth, and a smaller 26 x 32cm coil for working tighter, more mineralized, debris-heavy patches with better control. Both mount on the same 3-piece telescopic aluminum shaft, so switching coils mid-session is a quick swap rather than a separate setup.
