Waterproof to 60 meters and built around 17-frequency BBS technology, the Excalibur II is Minelab's dedicated dive detector for shipwreck hunters, beachcombers, and anyone searching salt water where most land detectors fall apart.

The Excalibur II is Minelab's dive-specific detector, transmitting, receiving, and analyzing 17 frequencies at once through its exclusive BBS (Broad Band Spectrum) engine — the reason it holds depth, sensitivity, and discrimination across such a wide range of target types and ground conditions.

Rated fully waterproof to 60 meters (200 feet), it's built for professional diving rather than the occasional splash. RCB circuitry amplifies weak signals right inside the coil itself, so faint, deep targets don't get lost to electrical interference before the signal ever reaches the control box.

Iron Mask solves a problem divers know well: a coin or ring sitting next to iron trash that would otherwise mute the good signal. It keeps those targets audible instead of masked, and the phosphorescent housing glows enough to stay visible in low light or murky water.

Control runs through analog dials rather than a digital display — a Discriminate mode with adjustable rejection, plus an All-Metal/Pinpoint mode for locating a target precisely once you know it's there. A dual-shaft design swaps between a standard land shaft and a compact configuration built for diving, and wired integrated headphones deliver the analog multi-tone audio in both setups.

Key Features

  • 17-Frequency BBS Technology

Transmits and analyzes all 17 frequencies at once, for depth and discrimination across varied targets.

  • Waterproof to 60 Meters

Rated for real diving depth, not just a splash-resistant seal.

  • Iron Mask

Keeps a coin or ring signal audible even when it's sitting right next to iron.

  • RCB Technology

Boosts weak signals inside the coil itself before interference has a chance to bury them.

  • Automatic Ground Balance

Adjusts on its own, which matters in salt water where ground conditions shift constantly.

  • Dual Shaft

Swap between the standard land shaft and a compact dive setup in minutes.

  • Battery Lasting up to 16 Hours

A rechargeable NiMH pack gets you through a long dive day or extended beach session.

Ideal For

Who Should Use the Minelab Excalibur II?

Professional divers and shipwreck/sunken-treasure hunters

The 60-meter rating and BBS discrimination are built for working real dive sites, not just wading in shallow water.

Searching surf zones and beaches with high-salinity water

Automatic ground balance keeps the signal steady in salt water, where fixed-setting detectors tend to drift and chatter.

Searching for jewelry and coins in fresh water, lakes, and rivers

The same 17-frequency stability that handles the ocean works just as well in lake beds and river bottoms.

Anyone seeking the highest waterproof rating on the market

At 60 meters, it goes deeper than any other detector Minelab or most competitors currently sell.
