Equinox 900 carries the same Multi-IQ core, IP68 waterproofing to 5 meters, and 119 discrimination segments as the 700, then adds a fourth search mode — Gold — built specifically for prospecting rather than general coin and relic work. Six single frequencies, up to 40 kHz, give it reach the 700's four don't cover.

It ships with a second coil standard: the 11-inch EQX11 for general ground alongside the compact 6-inch EQX06 for picking through smaller, gold-specific targets. Iron Bias runs on a 0-9 scale here rather than the 700's 0-3, and manual noise cancelling joins the automatic and continuous-automatic modes for working through mineralized or heavily worked ground.

A folding carbon-fiber shaft, red LCD backlight with a Medium setting the 700 doesn't have, control-box flashlight, and both Iron Vibrate and Tone Zones vibration options keep it usable in low light or loud conditions. Wireless audio, IP68 waterproofing, and Minelab's 3-year warranty carry over from the rest of the range.
